Finding Inspiration in doing something new ~ the Motivation for Change

I have learned to believe that I can achieve my goals, and finish a novel, but I am still overwhelmed sometimes by characters and plot. Each one has their own voice, shouting for attention; and occasionally, even Durstan can't draw me into his story.

This isn't a reason to stop! Editing, research and marketing are equally important activities for a writer, as is reading someone else's novel. I can usually then return to mine, with renewed vigour, and finish what I have started.

But I felt tired this morning, having poured my energies over the last 3 days into compiling a poetry Anthology, whilst also working on Book 2. I like to "talk" on social media as I'm having my 1st mug of coffee, but today instead, I decided to read some back copies of  Writing Magazine

I wanted to be inspired to do something different, and it struck me then that I hadn't as yet invited anyone to be a Guest on the Hope and Dreams blog. Similarly, I would also like to be interviewed on others, but I hadn't told you this

...and I was inspired by this simple thought.

I'll be messaging friends now, to see if they would like to introduce themselves, and answer no more than 8 questions in an interview on my blog. I would be delighted to do the same on yours, so please contact me if you would like to join in.

In the meantime, I am motivated and excited by the thought of something new. Durstan has my attention again, and it's back to work, editing the 2nd book in the Iona Trilogy.

If you would like to read the beginning of Durstan and Ailan's story, The Monk who Cast a Spell is available now from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and in other places.

Thank you for visiting the Hope and Dreams Blog. I hope you are having a great week.
